Kim first captured the hearts of Denver theater-goers when she was cast, at the age of 11, in the role of Marta in the Country Dinner Playhouse production of “The Sound of Music”. She also shined in “Annie Get Your Gun”, “The King and I”, and “Showboat”.
In 1982 Producer/Director, Bill McHale, cast her in the lead role of the West Coast Premiere of the musical, “Annie.” For 14 months, she and an immensely talented cast played sold out performances in Colorado and Kentucky. To date, “Annie” remains the show most dear to her heart. Kim has been a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association for over 36 years.
Kim graduated in 1992 from the University of Southern California, Rossier School of Education, and went on to share her passion for music by teaching at Mary Butler, a middle school for the performing and visual arts in Long Beach, California.
Kim is an avid volunteer at her synagogue where she is known and loved for her expressions of spiritually-lifting traditional and modern Jewish melodies. In addition to lending her voice in her Temple choir, she provides vocals for The Band of Milk and Honey. Kim also serves on the Board of Trustees at her synagogue, and she is dedicated to supporting Social Action programs both inside and outside the synagogue walls.
In 2014, Kim released her first album titled, “The Other Side of Tomorrow.” This album includes songs she sang during her early years of performing, as well as many favorites throughout her musical journey. Her album is available on iTunes, Amazon Music, and Spotify.
